If we haven’t fully answered all of your questions, please contact us via phone or through the contact us so we can further assist you.
What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?
Direct Primary Care is a membership‑based model that removes insurance from the middle of your primary care. Instead of billing per visit, you pay a predictable monthly fee that gives you direct access to your provider, longer appointments, and truly personalized care.
DPC allows us to focus on you — not codes, quotas, or rushed visits.

However, you can still use your insurance for:
-
Labs
-
Imaging
-
Specialist visits
-
Medications (if you prefer to use your pharmacy benefits)
Many patients pair their membership with a high‑deductible or catastrophic plan for emergencies.
Can I use HSA, FSA, or HRA funds to pay for my Direct Primary Care membership?
Yes. Beginning in 2026, the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) recognizes Direct Primary Care (DPC) memberships as qualified medical expenses. This means patients can use HSA, FSA, and HRA funds to pay for their Gem State DPC membership, as long as the membership fee stays under the federal cap of $150 per month per individual.
These changes continue into 2027 and beyond.
Does OBBB change how my insurance works with DPC?
OBBB allows patients to pair a DPC membership with a High‑Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) without losing HSA eligibility. Your insurance still covers hospital care, specialists, imaging, and emergencies, while your DPC membership covers your primary care.
