À La Carte Care Now Available for Non-Members

Gem State Direct Primary Care is expanding access to personalized healthcare with a new offering for non-members: à la carte services, available beginning this fall. This flexible option allows individuals to receive high-quality care without committing to a monthly membership—ideal for visitors, seasonal residents, or anyone exploring the DPC model.

“Our mission has always been to make healthcare more personal, transparent, and accessible,” says Ashley Rider, Operations Manager at Gem State DPC. “While the membership model remains the heart of our practice, we recognize that some patients may need one-time services while coming through town or prefer a pay-as-you-go approach. This expansion allows us to meet those needs without compromising the quality or warmth of our care.”

À La Carte Services Include:

•  Sick visits and acute care

•  Extended visits

•  Lab testing and diagnostics

•  Procedure-based services (e.g., wound care, injections)

…and more.

All services are priced transparently and delivered with the same patient-first approach that defines Gem State DPC. Non-members can expect clear communication, upfront pricing, and compassionate care—without surprise bills or insurance hassles.

This new offering is perfect for:

•  Visitors or seasonal residents

•  Patients seeking one-time care without commitment

•  Those curious about the DPC model before joining

Gem State DPC continues to offer comprehensive care through its monthly membership, which includes unlimited visits, direct provider access, and ongoing support for chronic conditions, wellness, and preventive care—all for one low monthly fee.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Gem State DPC Stands with You

At Gem State Direct Primary Care, we believe that awareness is the first step toward prevention—and that compassionate, proactive care can make all the difference. This October, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re reaffirming our commitment to supporting patients through education, early detection, and personalized care.

Why Early Detection Matters

Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women in the U.S. during their lifetime. When caught early, it’s highly treatable. That’s why we encourage regular screenings, open conversations, and individualized risk assessments—especially for patients with a family history or other risk factors.

How Gem State DPC Supports You

•  Personalized Risk Assessments: We take time to understand your health history and guide you through next steps.

•  Clinical Breast Exams: Available during routine visits or by appointment.

•  Referrals for Imaging: We coordinate with trusted local partners for mammograms and ultrasounds.

•  Education & Advocacy: We provide clear, compassionate information to help you make informed decisions.

•  Ongoing Support: Whether you’re navigating a diagnosis or supporting a loved one, we’re here with resources and care.

For Our Community

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is also a time to honor survivors, support those in treatment, and remember lives lost. We invite our patients and community to wear pink, share stories, and encourage one another to prioritize preventive care.

If you have questions about breast health or would like to schedule a screening, visit gemstatedpc.com or call 208-361-2146. Let’s take this month to stand together—for awareness, for action, and for each other.

What Is the One Big Beautiful Bill—and What It Means for Gem State DPC Members

Healthcare in Idaho is evolving, and Gem State Direct Primary Care is proud to be part of a movement that puts patients first. This fall, the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) goes into effect—a landmark piece of legislation that strengthens the direct primary care (DPC) model and protects your right to transparent, relationship-based healthcare.

What Is the OBBB?

The One Big Beautiful Bill is a new Idaho law that officially recognizes DPC as a non-insurance healthcare option, ensuring that clinics like Gem State DPC can continue offering care without the red tape of traditional insurance billing. It affirms that your membership is not insurance—and that’s a good thing.

What This Means for You

As a Gem State DPC member, you already enjoy direct access to your provider, transparent pricing, and personalized care. The OBBB reinforces and protects that experience by:

•  Clarifying your membership as a direct care agreement—not insurance

•  Protecting your provider’s ability to offer care without third-party interference

•  Ensuring your right to choose DPC as a standalone or complementary option to insurance

Why It Matters

This legislation is a win for patients who value simplicity, trust, and continuity in their healthcare. It allows Gem State DPC to stay focused on what matters most: you. Whether you’re managing chronic conditions, seeking preventive care, or just want a provider who knows your name, the OBBB helps preserve the integrity of that relationship.

Questions? We’re Here to Help

We know healthcare can be confusing, and we’re committed to making it clearer. If you have questions about how the OBBB affects your membership or want to share this model with friends and family, we’re happy to walk you through it.

Please note that insurance specific questions should be directed to a healthcare insurance agent.
